Character Name: Kirie Fujou Character Series: Kara No Kyoukai: The Garden Of Sinners Character Age: Most likely around 16 or 17 Background: Series | Character Personality: The last surviving member of a clan of demon hunters specialized in curses- not that you'd be able to tell at first sight. Thin, pale, with her long dark hair being the thing that stands out about her the most, Kirie barely has any presence to her; her appearance is quick to make one of a ghost, complete with a long white hospital robe she constantly wears. It will never occur to you that she's also responsible for a series of suicides, by leading eight girls to jump of a tall building and to fall to their deaths. Indeed-- Kirie herself gives little to no impression when you first meet her. A quiet young lady, there's really nothing improper about her manners.
She's polite, pleasant in conversation, calm and composed, even nice. She speaks in a soft tone of voice and never calls attention to herself, yet she often smiles and seems incapable of showing enmity or hatred or truly negative emotions, even towards her enemies. Relaxed and even laid-back, she has a bit of a live and let live attitude; a girl who takes everything in stride, easily accepting reality and the way things are. Yet at the same time, she seems to be a girl with no drive nor motivation. As though she's already given up on everything.
Kirie really should have been a normal girl, but she was hospitalized and bedridden with terminal illness as a young girl, and watched her entire family die in front of her eyes. She spent a great deal of her life in that hospital, with only the room and the view outside keeping her company. As beautiful as a view as it was, imagine living in the same hospital room all your life- eventually, becoming nearly unable to even leave your room due to illness. Hatred and fear for the outside world that she can't reach and watched for years festered within her.
And along with that, she grew incredibly, painfully lonely and desperate for friends; after all, she literally knows only a few living people. When the magus Soren Araya gave her the ability to control a second body that can float above the Fujou building, she was able to see the phantom images of eight girls, their unconsciousness; she spoke about how she "called out" to them, causing them to commit suicide unconsciously, for the simple reason that they didn't notice her in their unconscious forms and she thought that they could be friends.
All in all, Kirie is desperate for something to live for, for something to have; she feels as though she has nothing, so she clings to what she does have, what she is capable of grasping. She falls in love with Mikiya and steals his soul, hoping that he's "take her away", even though she never even properly met him- she only saw him through the door of her hospital room when he was walking through the corridor every day to visit Shiki, but she fell in love with him just through that just because of the expression on his face and the effect it had on her. In that sense, Kirie is not completley stable and potentially quite dangerous due to her abilities and the envy she develops towards Shiki.
Although, while he "ghost" from is capable of some playful cruelty-- Kirie herself is by all means a normal girl who just happened to have been born in the wrong family and caught up in the wrong things. She genuinely regrets what happened to the girls and she's honestly sad about it, even breaks down and cries when speaking about it. She's not really a bad person nor a good person; she has nothing to live for and exists in a state of "hovering", not feeling alive due to not having anything nor a reason to live, but without being literally dead. So it's no surprise that she eventually decides to commit suicide because she has nothing else to life for, and ends her life for good... but without any regrets, and smiling while she does it.
Abilities: Due to having come from a long line of demon hunters, while Kirie herself was never trained with any special abilities, her ancestry granted her an unusual, supernatural vitality, which prolonged her life to the point where she should have been dead a long time ago due to her disease, though it did not allow her to overcome it, as well as natural physic abilities- suggestion, be be precise, as well as cursing due to her family's speciality. The magus Araya Souren granted her the ability to project a ghost version of herself on top of the Fujou building; to be precise, he gave her an additional "vessel", that being her ghostly self, and she controlled it using her mind from her hospital room.
